Two Months After 1 October, Nevadans Still Seek Action on Gun Violence

Earlier this week, gun violence prevention advocates gathered in Las Vegas to remember the lives lost five years ago in Sandy Hook, Connecticut, as well as two months ago here in Southern Nevada. They discussed the impact gun violence increasingly has on our day-to-day lives, and they encouraged each other not to give up their fight for stronger gun laws. (more…)

Faith Organizing Alliance Hosts Education Town Hall in West Las Vegas

On Tuesday, the Las Vegas based Faith Organizing Alliance held a community town hall at the Historic Westside School to discuss public education in Southern Nevada’s African-American communities. They invited a panel of experts to speak about what the state is doing to improve public education, and what still must be done to make education more equitable for communities of color. (more…)
