Fight for 15 Activists Hit Las Vegas Strip, Demand Fair Wages on Labor Day

On Labor Day, hundreds of economic justice activists took to the Las Vegas Strip to demand fair wages and workers’ rights. They were joined by Members of Congress, local elected officials, and other progressive activists on a warm Monday morning. And they marched just hours before President Donald Trump announced his final decision on the DACA program some 13,000 Nevadans rely upon for legal immigration status. (more…)

Nevadans to Trump Administration: “Leave Our Monuments Alone”

U.S. Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke is set to return to Nevada later this month, as the Trump Administration continues its review of 24 National Monuments. In advance of Zinke’s return, Ruben Kihuen (D-Las Vegas) and Dina Titus (D-Paradise) joined several other Nevadans in making clear to the White House they want Nevada’s Monuments left alone. (more…)

By Invitation Only: Jeff Sessions Comes to Las Vegas, Meets with Private Audience

On a hot Wednesday morning, U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions slipped into Las Vegas to do an event with Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt (R) and local law enforcement officials. Dirty Situation: The Hidden Costs of Methane Emissions

Last year, the federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) announced new rules for methane emissions from oil and natural gas operations. The rules were to limit methane emissions from new fossil fuel infrastructure and require operators to submit to periodic monitoring. But this past February, the U.S. House passed a resolution to rescind the BLM rule. And last month, the Trump-era EPA announced the withdrawal of its methane rule.
