By Invitation Only: Jeff Sessions Comes to Las Vegas, Meets with Private Audience

On a hot Wednesday morning, U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions slipped into Las Vegas to do an event with Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt (R) and local law enforcement officials. Federal Monuments Review Comment Period Closes as Basin and Range National Monument Celebrates Its Second Anniversary

Last night, the Department of the Interior closed public comment on the administration’s controversial review of the designations of Basin and Range and Gold Butte National Monuments and other monuments across the country. Ironically, this came on the same day as  the second anniversary of Basin and Range National Monument’s designation. Much to the White House’s chagrin, public comments were overwhelmingly in favor of keeping the monuments in place. (more…)

“What I’m Watching Here Is a Tragedy”: Catherine Cortez Masto Condemns Trumpcare Alongside Nevada Health Care Advocates

At UMC’s Children's Hospital of Nevada in Las Vegas, U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D) refused to mince words in describing Senate Republicans’ stalled Trumpcare bill. Cortez Masto stated she could not find anything in the Senate Republican bill that would “lower costs for anyone in Nevada”. Cortez Masto joined local health care advocates on Friday to point out how Trumpcare does nothing but harm Nevada. (more…)

Opinion: Trump Nominates Judges That Serve His Personal Interests Over Country

Environmentalists Deliver 400+ Letters to Dean Heller Opposing Trump Budget Cuts

Several environmental and progressive groups visited U.S. Senator Dean Heller’s (R) Las Vegas office to urge him to vote against Donald Trump’s proposed budget cuts. The Nevada Conservation League then delivered 408 handwritten letters to Heller’s office opposing cuts to environmental health programs. They want Senator Heller to stick to his word and vote against an anti-Nevada budget. (more…)

Ryan Zinke Forced to Address Trump Administration’s Plans for Nevada’s Newest National Monuments

U.S. Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke continued his jaunt through Nevada with a stop in Pahrump to announce the release of rural funds that were already appropriated. But when asked about the Trump Administration’s controversial “review” of National Monuments (including Nevada’s two monuments), Zinke was less than clear.
