Faith Organizing Alliance Hosts Education Town Hall in West Las Vegas

On Tuesday, the Las Vegas based Faith Organizing Alliance held a community town hall at the Historic Westside School to discuss public education in Southern Nevada’s African-American communities. CCSD Trustees Decide on Next Round of Budget Cuts

After five-plus hours of outrage, rancor, frustration, and sorrow from both sides of the dais, the Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of Trustees agreed to an alternative budget proposal in hopes of staving off any further cuts to support staff or special education programs. The CCSD Board also proposed a financial review to approve next month to respond to public demands for increased accountability. (more…)

Van Jones and Green for All Rally with Chispa for Clean Buses for Nevada Students

"It is very hard to learn when you can not breathe." That’s the message Green for All founder Van Jones had for Governor Brian Sandoval (R) last Saturday.
