Opinion: Energy Efficiency Pays

Advocates for clean energy and energy efficiency applauded a unanimous decision by the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) of Nevada on Wednesday to reconsider cuts to popular energy-efficient lighting rebates. Last year the PUC ended rebate programs for LED lighting, despite the fact that efficiency programs save consumers money, reduce energy bills, cut pollution and create jobs. (more…)

In the closing days of his administration, President Barack Obama declared Nevada’s Gold Butte and Utah’s Bears Ears National Monuments under the 1906 Antiquities Act.  The President’s action brought the number of areas declared by both Republican and Democrat Presidents as National Monuments to 129.
